Valentine’s Special Cupcake – Best Gift to give to your loved one!
Love, Cupid, hearts, chocolates, cards, and flowers are everywhere–yes, of course, it’s Valentine’s Day! On February 14, we celebrate love and friendship. It’s the day when people show their affection for another person or people by sending cards, flowers, chocolates OR special heart-shaped cupcakes with messages of eternal love.
But where did this holiday of affection come from?
The day gets its name from a famous saint, but there are several stories of who he was….this makes it even more interesting!
The popular belief about St Valentine is that he was a priest from Rome in the 3rd century AD.
Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers. St. Valentine felt this was unfair, so he broke the king’s rules and arranged marriages privately.
When Emperor Claudius found out, St. Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death.
There, he fell in love with the jailer’s daughter and when he was taken to be killed on 14 February, St. Valentine sent her a love letter signed “from your Valentine”.
